The Bear Ear Knit Hat — Fleece-Lined, One Size

A knitted hat with bear ears and a fleece lining, cut long at the sides so it actually covers the ears — the part most baby hats get wrong. It stays put when your baby turns their head, which is the difference between a hat that works on a walk and one that ends up in the bottom of the pram.

A note on fit

This is a stretch one-size hat rather than a graded size. It should sit snug enough to stay on and loose enough to slide two fingers under the brim. If it leaves a deep mark on the forehead it's too tight for now — put it away for a few weeks rather than sizing down elsewhere.

Safety

Hats should not be worn for sleep. Babies regulate temperature through the head, and a covered head during sleep raises the risk of overheating. Take it off before naps and at bedtime, indoors and in the car.
